Welcome to SMART
Our aim is to turn St Mary's Old Church, a well loved, but decaying and underused building, into a thriving hub for the community. Our 
vision is to refurbish the building to create a comfortable, flexible dedicated arts space where community groups, professionals and students from local schools can create, perform and display their work.

Partners in SMART are St Mary's parish, Stoke Newington Secondary School, local Turkish/Kurdish arts group RenkArt and Common Air Theatre. We plan to work together to welcome all age, ethnic, religious and interest groups, especially the young, and to stage events that bring people together.
SMART is presenting an expanding programme of regular concerts and other performances in the Old Church, with proceeds going towards the planned alterations to the building - see What's on.
